Rides

A great idea for a gift! Rides are offered 4 days a week.  All flights are towed aloft by a powerful tow plane.  Your ride pilot or instructor is Federal Aviation Administration certificated as a commercial pilot. Our pilots exceed the standards set by the FAA. The cost of each flight is all inclusive and includes the tow fee, glider rental and instruction. Our pilots love to fly and will be most happy to introduce you to the sport of Soaring. If nature cooperates, they will show you how a plane with no engine, uses a thermal, (warm rising air) to climb and stay aloft. The time stated for each flight is based on the tow height. The higher the tow, the longer the flight. All flights are offered in two types of gliders. The weight limit for the passenger is 240 pounds and the age limit is twelve years old.  Any flight you choose will be a wonderful introduction to the excitement and beauty of soaring flight.  Just give us a call and we will reserve a plane and pilot for you. We look forward to flying with you.  Bring your camera phone!  Feel free to spend the afternoon and bring a picnic to enjoy on our Gazebo after your flight!

Ride in the 2-33

A nice day to be outdoors is a nice day to fly! Enjoy a solar powered flight. This ride begins with a tow to 2,500 feet (or we may tow up to 3,000 feet if there is no sign of thermal lift) to ensure you enjoy approximately 20 minutes of soaring fun.

Ride in the Duo Discus
$180.00

This ride begins with a tow to 2,500 feet (or we may tow up to 3,000 feet if there is no sign of thermal lift) to ensure you enjoy approximately 25 minutes of soaring fun in the Duo Discus. This state of the art sailplane is made of fiberglass and carbon fiber spar flanges, thus making it strong, but light in overall weight (926 lbs.) This sailplane is quiet, highly responsive and a joy to fly. The Duo has normal operating range speeds of 56 mph to 112 mph. The wing span is 65.62 feet. Thus you will be able to travel a little farther from the glider field and explore the surrounding area.
